Online Attendance Policy
Onaizah Colleges places significant emphasis on monitoring students' regular participation in the educational process, whether through face-to-face or virtual instruction, in order to ensure the achievement of the intended learning outcomes and compliance with the approved academic regulations. Online attendance constitutes an essential component of each course's requirements and is counted as part of the approved contact hours. Attendance and absence records are monitored electronically through well-defined administrative procedures supervised by the competent academic authorities. The following regulations govern online attendance and the procedures for monitoring student participation:
  • Students are required to attend at least 75% of the scheduled lectures for each course, whether attendance takes place in physical classrooms, virtual classrooms for online courses, or distance education courses. Students whose attendance falls below the required percentage shall be denied entry to the final examination.
  • Participation in learning activities and course assignments for electronically delivered courses shall be considered equivalent to attendance for the corresponding academic week.
  • Students are required to participate in the activities available within the online course during the periods announced by the course instructor. Failure to participate within the specified timeframe shall be recorded as an absence.
  • The attendance requirements and deprivation regulations officially adopted by Onaizah Colleges and announced by the Academic System Administration shall apply equally to online courses.
  • Students are expected to demonstrate appropriate conduct and professional behavior during online classes. If a student's behavior violates the Colleges' code of conduct, the course instructor may record the student as absent.
  • Students attending a virtual classroom are required to remain present throughout the entire scheduled session. Leaving the virtual classroom before the end of the session without obtaining the instructor's permission may be considered an absence.
  • The course instructor shall specify the schedule and number of virtual class sessions within the course page on the system, together with the governing attendance requirements and the minimum attendance percentage expected from students.
  • In coordination with the Academic System Administration, the number of participants in each virtual classroom shall not exceed 35 students in order to ensure effective interaction and engagement.
  • Students are expected to participate actively in virtual classes with the course instructor in the same manner as they would in a traditional classroom. Failure or refusal to participate may be treated as an absence.
  • If the enrollment in an online course section exceeds 35 students, students shall be divided into multiple virtual groups, with each group not exceeding the approved maximum number of participants.
  • Enrollment in General Education course sections may be increased, provided that the number of students assigned to each section does not exceed 35 students.
Anti-Cheating Policy
Onaizah Colleges is committed to implementing procedures and regulations that safeguard the integrity of the educational process and enhance the credibility of assessment within the E-Learning environment. This is achieved through continuous verification of students' genuine participation in learning activities, monitoring their attendance and engagement, supervising online examinations, and reviewing assignments and academic tasks to verify their authenticity. These measures contribute to ensuring the achievement of learning outcomes while minimizing academic misconduct, cheating, and fraudulent practices in accordance with the approved academic regulations.
