First: guidance and counseling

The center provides free guidance, through fully equipped and private guidance offices. So that the girl is allowed to sit with the counselor completely individually to reveal to her everything that is in her mind, and to tell her about all her problems. The counseling in this center is an extension of the family and social counseling in the center. In terms of the standards, mechanisms, and ethics that female counselors adhere to are based on a list approved by the center. Onaizah private colleges and female counselors in this center are members of the family counseling unit at the center, where they were chosen according to several professional considerations, and they are rehabilitated on an ongoing and regular basis, and they have been specialized in various fields of counseling; so that they present it to the students as follows:

  • Marital counseling:

    Helping individuals how deal with marital life in all its dimensions, starting with the foundations of choice and decision-making, through the problems that hinder marital life. Developing marital skills in interaction and communication, guiding newlyweds, and qualifying them to establish a stable and secure family.

  • Family counseling:

    Assisting the family in understanding family life and overcoming the difficulties it encounters which threaten its existence and stability. Developing interaction and communication skills and solving family problems; to achieve family effectiveness and stability among family members, which in turn is reflected in social security and the development of Saudi society.

  • Educational Guidance:

    Helping the student to adapt to university life, and the difficulties, problems, and misfortunes she may encounter. To invest all its energies in achieving consensus and building the future effectively.

  • Psychological Guidance:

    Helping the student to identify her psychological problems professionally and scientifically. Treating the behaviors that stem from psychological distress due to painful life situations by instilling self-confidence, optimism, and other requirements of behavioral treatment for problems.

 

Second: Awareness and Education

The role of the center is not limited to individual programs such as counseling sessions, or focused programs such as training courses. Rather, it provides public awareness programs through several activities including:

  • Media campaigns within the college, through publications, posters, visual shows, temporary exhibitions, and other means

  • Various lectures and seminars on the personal and family aspects, and coordination is made with the College of Humanities and Administrative Studies in implementing these activities through the activities plan and the short-printed publications

  • Quality hosts for a group of successful men and women in their lives; to present their family experiences

  • Securing a family and psychological library containing the most important family and psychological books, and lending them to female students through specific mechanisms

  • Holding competitive competitions among female students on the most important contemporary family issues in attractive and new ways

  • Organizing subscriptions for female students in family magazines at nominal prices

  • Sending text messages from the “family mobile” to female students about the most important issues of girls

  • Implementation of a mailing group and lists on various social media; to select programs and topics aimed at family education and send it to female students

 

Third: Training

The center provides various training courses in life skills that are of interest to the family and society. As an influential member in building the family, the center also organizes workshops and panel discussions in which female students participate, and in which vital topics are discussed transparently and the topics of the courses or workshops are determined by the students themselves, through a periodic referendum or questionnaire on the colleges’ website about what they wish to present and discuss. In the coming days, then this will be added to the operational plan for each semester. The trainees will be granted certificates from “Unaizah Private Colleges” through the “Family and Social Counseling” center of the colleges of Ain. Zaha Al-Ahlia
